About

Twenty years of games. One shelf.

PixelShelf™ started with one collector, a growing shelf and an idea for doing it better. Here's the short version.

It started in 2005, with an Xbox 360 and a handful of games. The collection has been growing ever since.

One console became several. Discs and cartridges were joined by digital libraries on Xbox, Steam and more, and a few favourites ended up on more than one platform.

Any gamer or collector knows the little questions that come with that. Is this one already on the shelf? Did I pick it up in a sale last year? What should I play tonight?

The answer was to build something: one place for the whole collection, that's as much fun to open as the games themselves.

“I wanted a one-stop solution: every game I own, from every platform, in every format, while also keeping track of my progress.”

How it got here

  1. Version 1

    A spreadsheet

Every game typed in by hand, with macros doing the heavy lifting. It did the job, but only at a desk.

  2. Version 2

A web app on a home server

Phone-first, with cover art and details filled in automatically. The first thing to be called PixelShelf, but it only ran on a home network, so it was only ever for one person.

  3. Version 3

    An app for everyone

Rebuilt from scratch for Android in 2026. No account to make, and no server to rely on once your library is built: it lives on your phone.

What it is now

A game collection app with one library for every game you own, physical, digital or cloud, on any platform. Link Xbox or Steam and your playtime and achievements come too. Then there's stats, a wishlist, and Roll the Dice for when you can't decide.
